Home Tutor Talkback sessions are online group meetings that take place at the start of every term. They are a time where teachers and home tutors get a chance to look at the term ahead and discuss the key information for a particular year level.
The intent of the session is to inform home tutors about topics such as:
- Key dates (field services, school events, assessment due dates)
- Who the year level teachers are and what subjects & units they’ll be teaching your children in that term (so you know who to contact about what if you have any questions)
- Assessment focus for each subject and timelines for work submission (Assessment Tasks, Work Rate Calendars, Lesson Schedules)
- Other key information, for example; where to locate forms, reminders about the school’s attendance policy, explanation of the wellbeing program, etc.
It is also a chance for home tutors to ask questions of the teachers and seek clarification about what they need to be doing at home to help their child get organised for the term ahead.
While attendance at these sessions is not mandatory, it is highly recommended. If you can’t attend the live session, recordings will be made available afterwards. Alternately, tutors are welcome to contact their child’s teacher/s if they have any questions.
